Materials :
2pc regular size children's handkerchief (or face towel cut into handkerchief size)
8pcs printed cotton (same size as handkerchief)
4sets snaps
Bias tape
Snap plier
1) Place a piece of cotton with the right side facing down.
2) Place the handkerchief on top of the cotton.
3) Place another piece of cotton, now with right side facing up, on top of the handkerchief.
I used double layer of face towels here instead of handkerchief but really, 1 layer is sufficient |
4) Pin the assembly to hold them in place.
5) Sew along the perimeter, with 1cm seam allowance and cut away the excess.
6) Snip away the corners of the pad.
7) Open the bias tape and align to the side of the pad.
8) Sew along the first fold line of the bias tape, around the perimeter of the pad.
9) Turn over the pad and fold the bias tape at its middle fold line and fold again at the last fold line.
10) Sew the folded bias tape in place.
12) Pierce a hole at the mark and place the snap through the hole.
13) Clamp the snap in place with a snap plier.
14) Repeat steps 12 - 13 for the remaining 3 snaps.
15) Repeat step 1 - 14 for the other pad.
The drool pads are now done.
If using snaps, the drool pads are reversible. Thus you may want to use a printed cotton as the bottom layer in step 1 and another print in step 3 as what I have in the pictures here.
